Professor of Physics Sarah Bolton began her career in this department in 1995. She quickly became a talented and respected teacher, while building a research laboratory using an ultrafast laser to study the properties of nanostructured materials. Over the years she advised a dozen honors thesis students and taught hundreds of grateful students. From 2010 to 2016 she very capably served at Williams as Dean of the College, an important job with responsibility for most aspects of student life. Now the College of Wooster wisely has chosen Bolton as its twelfth president. We are impressed with her abilities, we are sad for her to leave us, and we wish her the best at Wooster.
