“Spectral Theory of Random Schrodinger Operators”
We will give a brief introduction to the mathematical theory of random Schrodinger operators. These operators show quite unusual spectral behavior. If the disorder is large enough, then the random Schrodinger operators have dense point spectrum with exponentially decaying eigenfunctions (Anderson localization). This is a reflection of the physical fact that the strongly disordered systems (for example well mixed metal-insulator alloys) are bad conductors.
